We just wrapped up a two day cut a thon for a local family living here in Plymouth. The father is living with ALS. Thanks to all participants donating and volunteering to make this such a great couple days! The final number raised will be over $2000 for sure. Thanks again to everyone involved.

The curly girl!

While many people are straightening the curls, many like to wear them. Hydration is a must. According to JPMitchell, 76% of curly haired people use a leave-in conditioner to tame and moisturizer. Beachy, tousled waves are "in", as well as non-crunchy curls of all sizes. I like Rusk's thickener/texturizer before you blow dry. Have a great day!

Rusk color class

We have been fortunate to have join us here at Luxe, Ralph, color director from Rusk. We had a great class observing more techniques in covering "grey lights". Our model for the day was Ana, that's right, Ana from Cocina de Ana...located next to us here on the corner of 6 & hwy 101. We took a before and after picture, so you can see the difference between coloring hair at home and in the salon. The condition of the hair from the 'marine treatment' has left the hair in great shape. Soft, shiny and more manageable. Stop in and see Ana herself!

Rusk Smoothing Treatment

Colleen's client Jen's hair is colored and frizzy in this humidity this summer. We used Rusk's Keratin Smoothing system on her. Her hair will be more manageable and will take much less time to style. It will be smoother and straighter, with incredible condition and shine. Frizz will also be drastically reduced!

Save your hair from summer pool & sun

One of the best things you can do to save your tresses from chlorine and sun damage, would be to 'Malibu Shampoo' your hair right after swimming in a pool. It is preferable to shampoo before your hair dries with the pool water in it. I like to reconstruct my hair once a week in the summer. The wind and sun create tangles I can barely remove. Clare's before & after

Clare has been coloring her hair at home for years. With the help of Rusk's color line, the goal was to cover grey and darken it to her natural level. Without stripping her hair first,(which is less damaging) this color line deposited great from scalp to ends. She says she "loves it!".......Colleen

What is "in" in hair color......

For a long time we would see bolder, contrasting hair color. Some color was even referred to as "stripes, or tiger stripes". Currently in the trade magazines, is the complete opposite! Tone on tone, shiny, healthy, natural looking hair color. Hydrated and shiny, look around at our celebrities. Reds are in the copper tones, not purple as seen long ago. Blondes are buttery, not white and dry. Personally, these are my favorite colors to create! I'm Colleen, have fun looking around......

Tip of the Day! De-frizzing made simple...

Colleen's client, Wendy, switched her daily shampoo and conditioner to Rusk's Keratin Smoothing shampoo and conditioner. Her hair became easier to manage and get the frizz out, daily. Wendy's hair is not that curly, so for the expense, a Keratin Smoothing Treatment was a toss up. All she needed to do for more control is change up a couple daily products!
